New Music Releases – July 28th to August 2nd, 2020

Another Sunday is upon us, which means another installment of New Music Releases. It’s always interesting to go through a sluggish week and all of a sudden a piece of music comes out that changes your entire outlook on the week.
This week didn’t have too much music that interested me, but the records and songs that did come out really stood out to me. If you’re interested in buying or listening to any of the records or songs listed below, click on the title of one for a direct link to Amazon.

Punk-rock outfit Ghostpool is back with a new anthemic inducing track titled Tripped Up. Ghostpool is one of my favorite bands from my hometown of Buffalo, NY and this latest track from the group demonstrates why. Tripped Up is in your face, catchy as hell, and a powerful punk-rock tune.

I discovered Dominic Fike a year or so ago when he was featured on the Kevin Abstract song Peach. What Could Possibly Go Wrong is Fike’s debut full-length record and it’s a solid alternative hip-hop record. Vampire is my favorite track from the album, and as a whole, the entire record is worth listening to.

JPEGMAFIA is back yet again with Living Single. One thing to admire about Peggy is how often he releases tracks. Living Single is a fairly conventional Peggy tune, but it’s a great track nonetheless.

It’s hard to find another singer or songwriter who blew up as quickly as Billie Eilish did in 2019. My Future isn’t anything new or groundbreaking for Eilish, but it’s another great track that’s a part of a fantastic catalog from Eilish.
