New Music Releases – July 20th to July 27th, 2020

New music is what keeps me going in the right direction. As cheesy as that sounds, it’s always a great day-to-day operation to discover what’s new in the music world.
Whether the music is from a favorite artist I already know, or a new artist I never listened to before, either option makes any day better. This past week had a few new records and interesting tracks that are worth mentioning.

As I mentioned in the latest Live Music Recommendations, Lianne La Havas is an incredible musician whose latest self-titled release is her third full-length album. It’s a remarkable listen filled with a raw aesthetic of R&B and impressive vocals.

Hailing from my hometown of Buffalo, NY, Previous love is an alternative rock band that has interested me since their first release. Hatemouth is a guitar-driven track that’s filled with an impeccable chorus hook and excellent production.

Although this record was released slightly before the 20th, who cares about rules. Miles is the latest full-length record from Hip-Hop duo Blu & Exile. It’s a great rap and Hip-Hop jazz record that’s worth checking out for any fan of the genre or group.

Since their first EP release in 2015, Movements has intrigued me for their combination of emo, alternative rock, and post-hardcore. Don’t Give Up Your Ghost is everything you’d expect from the group and is a single off their upcoming record.

Although Feet of Clay came out 2019, Earl Sweatshirt recently dropped the deluxe version of the EP that features two new tracks, Ghost and Whole World. Solid EP that’s an expansion of Sweatshirt’s progression as an important rapper in the genre.
