Guest Mix: Colombian Salsa Records with Gia Fu | My Analog Journal
It’s a beautiful day to be alive, and what better day to appreciate life than Saturday. Two days ago, I made a quick trip to Barnes and Noble, which I haven’t been to in years. I typically go to Talking Leaves or any local Buffalo bookstore for my book and literature needs, but I figured I’d take a visit to Barnes and Noble for a change. After all, it was my favorite place to go to as a kid.
I purchased I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison, and Last Exit to Brooklyn by Hubert Selby Jr. I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream is a science fiction short story about the Allied Mastercomputer (AM), a supercomputer that brought about the near-extinction of humanity. Last Exit to Brooklyn features six short stories centered around the harsh and uncompromising lower class of Brooklyn in the 1950s.
Both are excellent so far, and I can’t recommend both writers enough, especially Hubert Selby Jr. Every person needs to experience a little bit of Selby Jr. in their life at some point. Regardless, above is a fantastic video from My Analog Journal featuring Colombian Salsa records with Gia Fu. Check it out!
