For whatever reason, these videos pop up from time to time with a seemingly odd title paired with a track. This one specifically is Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Flock of Seagulls playing in an empty mall. I don’t know why it’s in my YouTube recommendations, but here we are.

It’s an interesting mix to paint the picture in your head. As many people probably experienced during the pandemic, walking around nearly empty malls is a strange affair. Even though I’m certainly in the younger crowd being a part of Gen Z (though I’m getting older), I still remember what malls used to be like during my childhood. It’s only a matter of time until they’re gone. Wonder if anyone cares that much. Who knows.
