New Music Releases – June 27th to July 3rd, 2020
Another week has gone by, which means more music is available for us to consume. That being said, here is another installment of New Music Releases, a quick recap of tracks or records that I enjoyed this past week.
Some of these artists are more notable than others, but who cares about notoriety. As long as the music is good, that’s all that should matter. Nonetheless, let’s take a gander at what I recommend from this last week in the music world.
If you’re interested in buying or listening to any of the songs or records listed, click on the title of one for a direct link to Amazon.
Sufjan Stevens 2015 release, Carrie & Lowell, is a brutally honest and dejected tale that will fill any listener with an onslaught of emotions. Stevens’s latest single, America, is a 12-minute long track with stunning vocals, ambient compositional markers, and is an all-around interesting track.
The acclaimed third of Griselda is back with Flygod is an Awesome God 2. The pure prolific nature of Westside’s work ethic is difficult to ignore, and it certainly shows on this excellent rap record.
Del Paxton has been an underground emo rock band for a number of years, and it’s a shame they’re not more well-known across the globe. September is their first piece of new music since 2017, and it’s a representation of everything to love about Del Paxton.
Since Spencer.’s first release, he’s garnished a ton of attention in the bedroom pop and indie side of music. Maybe is a single off his upcoming debut full-length, and it’s a phenomenal track. Definitely be on the lookout for Spencer.’s debut LP.
JPEGMAFIA, one of the best and most unique artists in the rap game, has come out with a new single. The beat, production, and overall channel of the tune are excellent, give it a listen or two.
