100 Articles and Blogs from OutOfShapeMusic, What’s Next?
Monumental moments are worth noting for whatever reason, especially when they’re attached to the significance of a particular number. Nevertheless, this is the 100th article/blog for OutOfShapeMusic. Not much has happened other than that it’s a start for a website I hope to evolve and grow.
I started this with my friend Alex with the hopes to create a website dedicated to music recommendations and various other music means, having the primary goal to do music reviews when the time presents itself. Alex, unfortunately, is no longer a part of OutOfShapeMusic since his personal life has become far too busy for him to do this website on the side. I can’t blame him and appreciate him immensely for starting this site with me during the early stages of it.
At this point, I’m going to keep moving forward with daily music articles, whether they’re about music recommendations, random videos I stumble upon, gear-related topics, or anything for that matter. Occasionally, I’ll take a side tour and discuss other topics, but I’ll try my best to keep it primarily focused on music.
For those interested, I’d like to note what I envision this site to turn into. Considering I’m finishing up my last semester in college, have a full-time job, and am in a band, it’s difficult to do everything I want to do with this site right now. However, I’m dedicated to growing this site and developing it into what I actually want to accomplish. Down below will highlight a few points of interest I want to do with this site and when I think they’ll be accomplished.
Newsletter (Before September 2020 Ends)
A newsletter is what allows a blog or website to gain a following by allowing users to signup for the site’s newsletter. A few months have passed since the early stages of OutOfShapeMusic, I believe I’m at a point that a newsletter is worth doing. Before the end of the month, I will have a newsletter ready for all of you to signup for with your email.
Once a week, you will receive an email from me, discussing the various articles posted from the site in the previous week and what’s to come. It’ll also link you to the site’s Twitter and Instagram, with the hopes to grow a following there, since social media is such an important matter nowadays.
Album Reviews (2021)
What’s the point of creating a music blog without being opinionated? For my horribly biased reviews on various records, I want to begin my deep dive into the album review world. With the hopes to become the next great music critic, I have to start somewhere, as ridiculous of a notion that might sound.
I’ll begin by doing written album reviews, but once the time comes, I hope to continue moving forward with video reviews. Daily content is important and whatever route I end going with, I have to make sure I have enough time to fully captivate myself into the role of running a site every single day.
Video Content (2021)
Once I’m done with school and can comfortably do more than a single article a day, I will begin my journey in the world of YouTube. No, I won’t be a vlogger by any means but will be doing video music reviews, recommendations, discuss music news, etc.
It’ll be the video equivalent of what the site already brings, but to a new level with the hopes to gain a larger audience. The point is to keep the snowball growing and it’s been extremely rewarding to see views go in a particular direction after a few months of doing this.
Merchandise is an essential part of any band or site, but at some point, I’ll have to look into it. Of course, right now there isn’t a large enough following for any form of merch, but it’s worth noting to put it out there. I’ll most likely just go with the simple T-Shirt route and as time goes by, I’ll look into other options.
Thank you for taking the time to check this site out and I hope you’ll stick around as I add more pieces to it to try and watch it grow. I’ll remain committed to daily content for now with a newsletter coming in the next few weeks. Be sure to follow the site on Twitter and Instagram!
